a way to complement that. Rooms and overnight horse boarding and Crossed Sabers Facilities Use (Reservations Required)
CSS and SWAP has always had an open door for animals looking for a home but also for people and their animal friends looking for a place to hang their head. This will never change as long as this farm belongs to this our Executor/Director. So we ask you to feel free to use them, when ever its convenient We work very hard to keep this a relaxed environment that is peaceful and positive and we hope our visitors will enjoy the same happy environment that we nourish on a daily basis. Many of the stable activities have rooms included in the cost of the activity and any time a person volunteers for 8 hours the room for the 2 legged visitors are free.
A Single room for one or two people is $35. a night, when traveling with larger groups and you need both rooms, a second room can be rented for $25. (both rooms for 60.) which will sleep 8 people in two rooms, a private full bath is available for guests and the full kitchen/dining room is available to all visitors, use of the patios, porches, grills and even the outside hammock is available for any visitors. Laundry is available on the farm for household laundry for a small fee and depending on the well and the number of people staying. A fully functional office is available with fax, phone, computers with wireless broadband are all free and copies for a small fee. We have several TV's that have satellite and though the selection of stations is not big, it at least can give you local and national news and weather and network channels. If you are traveling with a house pet, they can stay in the guest room as long as they don't chew and are housebroken. If an adult person needs a place to stay and live on a monthly rate or weekly rate per room the fee is $150. and $600. for a monthly fee. Call for details.
Full Board for a horse is $25. a night. A second horse is boarded for $20. and all other horses in a group is $15. each. If you just need a place for day or night turn out or a place for the horses to stretch their legs with no feed or stall cleaning then its $5. per horse. We have a small indoor turn out area and 25 acres of outdoor turn out, plus and arena and round pen that can be used for turn out at times though we do not feed horses on any areas that have a sand footing (arena and round pen). We also have an open shed row that has 5 stalls that travelers can rent at 10. a night per horse. These stalls are open to the outside and does not include bedding and feed/water but there are locations to hang buckets and water is available. These shed row stalls are 10 x 14. All the stalls in the main barn are either 12 x 12 or 12 x 16. For horse facilities we have a 66' round pen with sand footing, 70 x 300 outdoor arena, 25 acres of turn out, 30 x 34' indoor turn out to allow one or two horses to stretch their legs, and indoor wash stall. Weekly board for a horse is $150. per week and $500. per month.
CSS is conveniently located 3 miles of US Rt. 50 and right in the middle of I-79 (30 miles away) and I-77 (50 miles away) running north south and just south of I-70 (60 miles away) and just north of I-64 (120 miles away) running east west. We are also 3.5 miles to gas/diesel, ATM and local restaurants. 5 minutes from a low end grocery store and 20 minutes from a high end grocery store.
Reservations can be made at anytime, even on the day of arrival by calling us at 304-873-3532 or emailing us at crossedsabers1@aol.com by 5pm on the day of arrival. When we have availability we can accept arrivals as late as midnight (without horses) and 10pm with horses... just give us a call to let us know approximate arrival times. Check out time is 10am but can be extended until 5pm if we don't have visitors scheduled for the follow on night. Payment can be made with cash, travelers checks, money order or personal check with a photo identification/drivers license, passport/visa as long as the checks have your name/address on the check and the check number is above #1000.
